DJI Phantom 4 highlights:

  • 30 Minute Flight Time, Flight Speed Up 44 Miles Per Hour

  • 20MP Camera, 4K Video, 4.35 Mile Range, Lighter Than Phantom 4 Pro

  • Flight Autonomy System with 5 Vision Sensors, Obstacle Avoidance

  • Remote Control, Satellite Positioning (GPS and Glonass)

  • Active Track allows Phantom 4 Advanced to recognize and track objects while keeping it in frame. This new algorithm also recognizes more subjects, from people to vehicles to animals, and will adjust its flight dynamics accordingly, ensuring smoother shots.

Overview

The Phantom 4 Pro Camera Drone is DJI's most advanced Phantom yet, allowing you to capture remarkable aerial images on your iPhone or iPad. Its titanium alloy and magnesium alloy construction increases airframe rigidity and reduces weight, providing up to 30 minutes of flying time. The FlightAutonomy system adds dual rear-vision sensors and infrared sensing systems for five-direction obstacle sensing and four-direction obstacle avoidance.

Camera with 1-inch 20-megapixel sensor and mechanical shutter

The onboard camera is a new design that uses a 1-inch 20-megapixel CMOS sensor. A custom-engineered lens made up of eight elements is arranged in seven groups. It's the first DJI camera to use a mechanical shutter, eliminating rolling shutter distortion that can occur when taking images of fast-moving subjects or when flying at high speed. In effect, it's as powerful as many traditional ground cameras. More powerful video processing supports H.264 4K videos at 60fps or H.265 4K at 30fps, both with a 100 Mbps bitrate.

Five-direction obstacle sensing

FlightAutonomy is expanded with an additional set of high-resolution stereo vision sensors placed at the rear of the Phantom 4 Pro. These are in addition to the pair placed at the front, as well as infrared sensing systems placed on the left and right sides. This network delivers five-direction obstacle sensing and four-direction obstacle avoidance, protecting the Phantom from more obstacles and giving you the confidence to attempt more ambitious film-making projects.

4.3-mile (7 km) video transmission range

The integrated upgraded Lightbridge HD video transmission system supports dual frequencies for greater interference resistance and a maximum video transmission range of 7 kilometres (4.3 miles).

Remote controller

The Phantom 4 remote controller is a multifunction wireless communication device that integrates the video downlink system and aircraft remote control system. Simply secure your iPhone in the included bracket that screws into the remote. Then start using it as a screen for the remote’s camera control functions, such as taking and previewing photos and videos, as well as controlling gimbal motion. And to help you stay in control, you can easily see the battery level displayed by LED indicators on the remote’s front panel.

Multiple flight modes

To accommodate the different flight characteristics needed by different types of productions, the Phantom 4 Pro offers three flight modes: P (Position), A (Atti) and S (Sport). Switching among them lets you get the control you need - whether you want smoothness, simplicity, intelligent navigation or speed. In Position Mode, TapFly, ActiveTrack, obstacle sensing and positioning features are available. Atti Mode switches off satellite stabilisation and holds the Phantom 4 Pro’s altitude. Sport Mode adds extra agility and higher speed, reaching 72kph (45mph). It's ideal for experienced pilots looking to capture smoother footage. There's also Tripod Mode, which limits speed to 7kph (4mph) and provides precision control for fine framing and indoor flying.
