General questions

Q: What is Sync for DJI?

Sync for DJI - the app that helps you download media from your DJI device with a few short steps: Choose -> Download -> Export. Also you can share the media instantly from connected device.

Q: Who is it for?

The app is for users who want to edit just captured media or share it with friends and followers immediately after flying even without PC or Mac.

Q: How is it different from DJI GO/4?

Q: What devices Sync for DJI supports?

Sync for DJI supports these DJI devices: Phantom 3 Pro/Advanced/Standard, Phantom 4 Pro/Advanced, Mavic Air/Pro/Platinum, Spark, Inspire 1, Inspire 2, Osmo, Osmo +, Osmo RAW. In general, no restrictions for DJI products.

Q: Why Sync for DJI is better tool for downloading and edit video than DJI GO?

Because

  1. Sync for DJI supports downloading of video even it was recorded in 4K resolution. Such feature allows you to share best quality footage with your friends in any social network immediately after flying.

Q: How to use Sync for DJI and DJI GO at the same time?

If one of the apps can not  see your connected device:

  1. Try to restart Sync for DJI or DJI GO

Q: Is Sync for DJI free app?

Yeah! Sync for DJI is completely Free. And basic features of the app will be always Free.

Connection questions

Q: How can I connect my aircraft or OSMO?

You can connect your DJI device via RC or Wi-Fi.

Connect via RC:

  1. Turn ON your Phantom 2/3/4, Mavic, Spark, Inspire.

  2. Turn ON Remote controller and pay attention to RC that is connected with aircraft.

  3. Open Sync for DJI app and wait for connection. Your device model will appear on the top of the screen.

Connect via Wi-Fi:

  1. Switch your aircraft to Wi-Fi mode then turn ON your Phantom 2/3/4, Mavic, Spark, Inspire or Osmo.

  2. Open Wi-Fi settings on your iOS or Android smartphone. Find your device and tap to connect.

  3. If connection is successful open the app and wait for connection. Your device model will appear on the top of the screen.

Q: How to restore connection?

To restore connection: disconnect and connect again your DJI device via RC or Wi-Fi. In case if your drone connected via RC - you can unplug and plug in the RC cable. Restart your DJI device and repeat the steps above if you have trouble connecting it.

Q: How to work with quick tool - Download picked items?

Quick tool ‘Download picked items’ will automatically start downloading picked items when your Drone or Osmo is connected.

Q: How to set like or tag?

To set like or tag you need to tap and hold your finger on one of these items and then move to desired value

Q: How to remove like or tag?

Open the Tag or Like menu and chose dashed item to remove like or tag.

Q: How to quickly remove or download specific files?

Use Filter feature. Open Filter, choose Suitable options and then tap on Apply button.

Q: How to delete all rejected items by one step?

Open Side menu and choose ‘Delete all rejected items’. This option will delete all rejected files on connected device.

Q: How to download files on my smartphone?

  1. Connect smartphone to DJI device

  2. Open screen with your items

  3. Tap on any of the item or use ‘select’ mode

  4. Tap on ‘download’ icon on the right side of the bottom bar

  5. Selected item(s) will be downloaded to ‘Storage’

Q: How to export files in Photos or Gallery?

  1. Download item(s) to ‘Storage’

  2. Tap on any of the item or use ‘select’ mode on ‘Storage’ tab

  3. Tap on any of the item or use ‘select’ mode

  4. Tap on ‘download’ icon on the right side of the bottom bar

  5. Selected item(s) will be exported in ‘Photos’/‘Gallery’

Q: How to share photos/videos via Sync for DJI?

  1. Connect smartphone to DJI device

  2. Open screen with your items

  3. Tap on any of the item or use ‘select’ mode

  4. Tap on ‘Share’ icon on the right side of the bottom bar

  5. Selected item(s) will be shared to desired social network

Q: What is the highest resolution for photo and video  I can get downloading from my DJI device?

Sync for DJI supports all types of video and photo resolution. You can download original files even if you recorded it in 4K resolution.

Q: Why I need to allow Sync for DJI use my geoposition?

iOS requires using the geoposition to support background downloading. Otherwise iOS will close Sync for DJI application and stop downloading processes within 3 minutes after minimizing the app. We strongly recommend you to Allow Sync for DJI using your geopositon while downloading your media from the device. Sync for DJI will not save or use your geolocation in any other way.

Troubleshooting

Q: Can’t open sphere, panorama, RAW.

Sync for DJI doesn’t support such media formats as panorama or sphere. As for RAW files you can download it to your Phone and then open with apps that support such RAW.

Q: Why I can not find my DJI device after it was connected to my mobile device?

Make sure that your drone is turned on. After the DJI device has been connected to the remote controller, power on the aircraft: press and hold the Intelligent Flight Battery Switch for few seconds. When the aircraft makes a beeping sound, connect the aircraft to DJI GO 4. Or you can search the DJI device Wi-Fi in your mobile device if it is in Wi-Fi mode.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Q: Does Sync for DJI use my cellular data?

The app doesn't use cellular data. We use internet connection just to connect to DJI servers and ensure your device has rights to use our SDK. It's just <500KB during first launch.
